The Sheboygan Rifle & Pistol Club, Inc. was organized in the mid-1950's by about 60 concerned firearms owners who solicited funds locally to build an indoor range in the basement of what is now Urban Middle School.  That range was then delegated to the control of the Sheboygan Recreation Dept.  The club later bought land along Rowe Rd. North of the city that currently provides common firing points for 25, 50, 100 and 200 yards.  The club is currently under a costly building program to provide both a meeting hall for members but more importantly to provide classrooms to teach the public safe firearm use.

Currently classes are being held for Hunter-Safety, Handguns, Rifles and Personal Protection in the Home.  The club sponsors Pistol and High Power Rifle competition during all months of the year.  The club sponsors a Junior club too.  The public is also served by sponsoring a deer rifle sight in the two weekends before the gun deer season.  A yearly fun show is also held.  Membership in the club is limited currently to 225 members and all members are required by by-law to join the NRA and maintain their membership.  There are also work hour and meeting attendance requirements to keep all members both knowledgeable and active in club plans.  A waiting list for prospective members is maintained when the club roster is full and to place your name on that list or apply for membership send your name, address etc. to the club secretary:
